I've never done breathwork before. Is this for me?

Absolutely. 

The Expansion Lab is designed for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. You don't need any prior experience—just curiosity and a willingness to explore. We'll guide you every step of the way.

Is this therapy?

No. While the work is deeply therapeutic, this is an educational and experiential workshop…not psychotherapy. You'll learn how the nervous system responds to stress and experience practical tools to support greater regulation, resilience, and well-being.

What if I get emotional?

Sometimes people laugh. Sometimes they cry. Sometimes they simply feel deeply relaxed.

There's no "right" experience. Whatever arises is welcomed with care, and you're always in charge of your own experience. Every invitation is just that…an invitation.

Will I have to share anything personal?

Not unless you want to. 

While there are opportunities for reflection and connection, you're never expected to share your story. Many people find the experience just as meaningful by simply listening and being present.

What should I expect to leave with?

A deeper understanding of your nervous system, simple practices you can use in everyday life, and a felt experience of what becomes possible when your body no longer has to live in constant protection.

Is this based on science or spirituality?

Both, but we always keep one foot planted on the ground. 

The Expansion Lab combines modern neuroscience, psychology, and somatic practices with the power of intention and ritual. You'll understand why these practices work, not just how to do them.

Founder of ritual breathwork

Kali May is the founder of Ritual Breathwork, where neuroscience, psychology, and sacred ritual come together to help people transform their relationship with the nervous system.

She believes many of us aren't living from our fullest potential—not because we're broken, but because our nervous systems have become organized around protection. While those patterns may have once kept us safe, they were never meant to become the place we live.

Through experiential education, intentional ritual, and guided breathwork, Kali helps people create new experiences of safety in the body—expanding their capacity for connection, creativity, purpose, joy, and possibility.
